Government
Nicaragua is a presidential representative democratic republic, in which the President of Nicaragua is both head of state and head of government, and there is a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the National Assembly. The current President is Daniel Ortega, and his presidential term lasts for five years. Opposed to the United States, which is only four years. Nicaraguan governemnt offices are located in the country's capital, Managua.
